Who are we?
• Garden Montessori School is an enrichment-focused preschool and kindergarten preparatory program for children ages 3-6.
• We offer a 2.5 hour morning program and a 2.5 hour afternoon program with flexible days. You choose your schedule.
• We are proud to be one of the few preschools dedicated to the enrichment of children. We do not offer day care or extended hours to generate additional revenue.
• We have chosen to remain small and limit our enrollment to 19 children even though we are licensed for 24.
• Our multi age class encourages cooperation instead of competition.
• Garden School children learn to work and play with joyful purpose in their own children’s community.
• Children prepare their own snacks in their own kitchen and wash their own dishes.
• Our play yard has real grass, trees, gardens, swings, climbing structures and a tire swing. Children can run and play and enjoy nature.
•We have a rabbit, fish and birds to allow the children to experience taking responsibility for and respecting animals.
• Every detail of the classroom environment and curriculum is designed to foster the independence, natural curiosity and learning style of each unique child. Children have a choice of many engaging work projects, all of which are carefully designed to build skills and engage minds.
• We devote meticulous attention to how we respectfully interact with children. Teachers guide children’s projects and choices while facilitating and cultivating each child’s learning style.
• Our program is intentionally structured to encourage respect and collaboration among children and to inspire personal responsibility and independence.
• Children develop their own hypotheses, conclusions and problem solving skills.
• We continually modify and expand our curriculum to meet the needs and interests of each class. Our curriculum is very skill based yet remains exciting and relevant to children. New work projects are introduced regularly to re-enforce various concepts and themes.
• Our “drive through” drop off and pick up allows parents contact with teachers every day.
• Troy and Karine have been with Garden Montessori School for 15 and 6 years respectively and have a combined total of 30+ years of teaching experience.
• It has been our pleasure to have been in operation since 1978 working with our community’s children. Jaye Perry founded the school and has been the director/owner for over 30 years.
